The days are officially numbered for former hip hop superstar from New York. Ja Rule is just playing the waiting game at the moment.
Starting this summer, Ja Rule will be serving a two year jail sentence 

Here is what TMZ reported... 

The judge in the case set Ja's sentencing date for June 8 -- where the rapper will get two years in the big house stemming from a traffic stop back in 2007 when cops found a loaded semi-automatic gun in his sports car.

As we previously reported, Ja pled guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon back in December and agreed to serve two years for the offense.

Lupe Fiasco had his album shelved for over two years. After protests and even petitions, the record finally hit stores today. All the wait and record label drama was surrounding Lupe wanting full creative control, and Atlantic did not want to grant that request.

Now they have reached a compromise and carried on with the project.

For Jay-Z that person is his former best friend and mentor Jaz-O. Last anybody heard from Jaz-O, he was apparently beefing with Jay. Now the New York Post reported that he will be releasing a biography titled "Empire State of Mind: How Jay-Z Went From Street Corner to Corner Office."

"He was like, 'I shot my brother,' " recalls Johnathan "Jaz-O" Burks in a new biography.

"I was like, 'What the f--k did you shoot him for?' He's like, 'I told him to stop taking my stuff.' He said it was kind of an accident . . . but the situation got kind of crazy, and he just happened to hit him in the arm.'"
